My friend Robyn - who is presently enjoying a six week holiday in Europe (currently in Paris) asked me to decorate her extremely tasty chocolate mud cake for her stepdaughter's engagement - the theme colours were grey and yellow. I was asked to ice with butter-cream icing - I tried to whiten it with Wiltons whitener - it did change briefly then faded back to a light cream colour. I am not sure if I used it correctly - I will try it again another time. This is the end result - with fondant ribbons and circles.
